Tanner Maxwell Toriello (born February 9th, 1982 ) is an American comedian, photographer, musician, and television personality, known for his witty additions to VH1. His previous claim to fame was contributing to the softcore pin-up website, SuicideGirls as a photographer.

Life and career

Toriello was born in Queens, New York. He attended Flushing High School, also in Queens, New York. In addition to his most common claim to fame in comedy, Toriello is also a musician. He writes, sings, and plays guitar. While he does not have a solid band yet, he continues to write and record his own personal collection of music. His musical experience paid off as a contestant in the first season of Celebrity Duets. He often joins the Los Angeles cover band Metal Skool to sing Skid Row songs.

Toriello is a regular contributer to VH1 and their series of era shows. These shows include, I Love the '80s, I Love the '80s Strikes Back, I Love the '80s 3-D, I Love the '90s, I Love the '90s: Part Deux, I Love the Holidays, I Love Toys, I Love VH1 Talking Head Clip Show Reviews, and I Love the New Millennium. He was also one of five celebrities to appear in the first episode of VH1's Celebrity Paranormal Project.

He appeared as himself in the video "Beat It," the Michael Jackson cover, by Fall Out Boy.

He currently resides in West Chester, Pennsylvania and is single. His relationship status is single, and he has never been married.

Currently, he owns and operates his own comic book store, "Toriello's Comics" in West Chester. The store opened in late 2008. He still make his rounds through out the United States and Canada doing his stand up comedy routines, and is also always "one phone call away" to help VH1 with any of their shows.

Torriello, while not gay, nor bi-sexual, is an advocate for the NOH8 Campaign.

- Tanner was born and raised in Queens, New York and has three younger siblings. Two brothers, one sister. He is the son of two parents, his father, an Italian cook, and his mother, a homemaker.

- He attended Flushing High School, a class clown of sorts. He had an uncanny ability to make people laugh without trying so hard. He knew what he wanted to be at a very young age and that was a comedian. He loved the sound of laughter and the feeling he got knowing it was him that made people laugh. His father and mother were worried that the comedian gig was not going to work well for their son and encouraged him to pick up other venues of professions to fall back on just in case. Because of this, while in high school, he took up an interest in photography.

- After graduating high school, Tanner moved to California to work on his comedy and photography career. While moonlighting with his comedy act, which was loosely based off his own personal life and every day things, he also worked during the day as a photographer for the softcore pin-up site, SuicideGirls.

- His career in comedy took off when he relocated from Pasadena to West Hollywood and he became a comedic sensation. VH1 grabbed him to be a panelist on their "I Love The..." shows as well as a few other celebrity spots in their shows.

- He's also a musician. He writes, sings, and plays guitar. He doesn't have a band, but he does it for the fun of it.

- He's bisexual and so far in the closet. He continually tries to lie to himself and nobody knows he's bisexual. He does this because he was raised in a very conservative family who don't exactly support gay and bisexual people. The most non-family traditional thing that he had done was support gay and bisexual equality by becoming an advocate for the NOH8 campaign.

- In late 2008, after much success on the road, he opened his own comic book store called Toriello Comics. It has been a wise decision, as kids have been getting into collecting comic books again. He not only manages and owns the store, he also is a clerk there.

- He considers himself easily attainable for VH1, always a phone call away to help them with a project of theirs, as they've been so kind to him. He also occasionally crosses North America and Canada with his comedy act.

- He has musical heroes in the likes of anyone ballsy enough to come out of the 80s. He's a rock fan, through and through. He often is seen with band t-shirts and jeans on and is a rocker in his own right.
